Description

Interoperability between Public Administrations? Does this sound familiar? If you want to know more about it join us at the EIS Info Day, organised by the Directorate General for Informatics, on the 1st December 2009.

The European Interoperability Strategy (EIS) is an initiative of the IDABC programme that aims to provide direction and to prioritise the undertaking of actions to achieve improved interaction, information exchange and cooperation among public administrations across borders and sectors for the years 2010-2015.

The EIS aims to contribute to achieving cross-border and cross-sector interoperability for better and more efficient delivery of electronic public services all around Europe, the so-called "European Public eServices". It moreover complements the European Interoperability Framework.

The EIS Info Day will focus on the draft version of the European Interoperability Strategy, currently under preparation within the IDABC programme. A public consultation on the EIS will be launched in December 2009.

The key note address wil be delivered by Mr. García Morán, DIrector General for Informatics, European Commission.
