Born 1958, married, two daughters, living in Oslo, Norway. M.Sc informatics, University of Oslo, 1985. Personal interests: Hiking/mountaneering, skiing (back country, cross country, telemark), volleyball. Started research at the Norwegian Computing Centre (NR) in 1985 after graduating with an M.Sc in informatics from the University of Oslo. Starting in the areas of networks (telecom and IP-based) and distributed systems, gradually focus turned to security and in particular security infrastructure and trust issues. Started research on eID and signatures in the mid-90s, obtaining a position as one of Norway’s most well-known expert in this particular area. Additional, broad security competence such as development and assessment of corporate and business security policies (ISO27002), legal frameworks, technical IT-security measures, and cryptography.
