Emilio Mordini is an MD (University of Rome La Sapienza) and MAPhil (Pontifical University S.Thoma). He is a clinical psychoanalyst and founding director of the Centre for Science, Society and Citizenship. He was partner of the Psychoanalytic Institute for Social Research (1986-2001), professor of bioethics in the Medical School of the University of Rome “La Sapienza†(1994-2005), member (1994-2000) and secretary (2000-2004) of the Bioethical Commission of the Italian National Research Council.  Since 1992 Emilio has participated as coordinator or main contractor in 22 EC funded projects in the scope of European RT&D Framework Programs  (FP) 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7. He is currently coordinating three  FP7 projects , SENIOR – Social ethical and privacy needs in ICT for older people: a dialogue roadmap (GA216820), HIDE - Homeland security, biometric identification & personal detection ethics (GA217762), RISE - Rising panâ€European and International Awareness of Biometrics and Security Ethics (GA230389).
