The BUILD UP web portal (www.buildup.eu) is the EU reference for energy efficiency in buildings, serving the needs of building professionals, public authorities and occupants. The key objectives are to increase the awareness of all parties in the building chain of the energy savings possible, to improve energy performance by transferring best practices in energy saving to the market and fostering their uptake, and to keep the market updated about EU energy policy for buildings. BUILD UP incorporates the European Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) Buildings Platform and complements the Lead Market Initiative on Sustainable Construction announced by the Commission in 2008.
