At the beginning of April 2012, the following new electronic services were launched: GetPerson2.0, SearchPersonByName 2.0 and SearchPersonByAddress 2.0, in order to facilitate the work of public administrations.

These services, which make use of the National Register of Natural Persons (Rijksregister) services, are a major addition to the services that are already provided by the MAGDA (MaximaleGegevensdelingTussenAdministraties or Maximum Data sharing between Administrations) Platform. They are the first examples of services that make use of the improved capabilities of the MAGDA 2.0 SOA infrastructure, which was put into production last year (2011).

The existing services can already be accessed via the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises (Kruispuntbank van Ondernemingen - KBO, in Dutch), the Crossroads Bank for Social Security (Kruispuntbank van de SocialeZekerheid - KSZ, in Dutch) and the Database of learning and of professional competence certificates (Leer- en ErvaringsbewijzenDatabank - LED, in Dutch). These new services now provide access to a fourth authentic source of data, which can finally be directly accessed by the Flemish public administrations.

Thus, from now on via the MAGDA platform, the Flemish public authorities can ask for someone’s marital status, the family history of a person and a foreigners’ residency status.

Soon, it will be also possible for a public authority to request someone’s passport photo in order to use it for administrative purposes, and to automatically receive changes made to someone's personal records.
