The holders of a Mobile-ID provided by a Latvian telecommunications company can access a number of electronic services of the national eGovernment portal 'latvija.lv'.

This development is part of an effort to improve the delivery of eGovernment services. Until now, these services were available for the users of Internet banking in a few Latvian banks, as well as the users of electronic signature.

The Mobile-ID holders are now able to securely sign in to the portal's online services simply by using their mobile phone. With a single purpose five-digit password, they can access remotely their bank accounts and electronic services provided by the portal.

Latvija.lv is a one stop-shop access point to public and local government services for citizens and businesses. 26 eServices have been available so far. Of those, the most popular ones accessible to the Mobile-ID holders are the 'Declaration of a Personal Property', the 'My Cadastral Data' service as well as access to personal data as they are represented in the 'Population Register'.
