On 13 May 2010, the Romanian Intermediate Body for the Promotion of the Information Society, Ministry of Communications and Information Society (MCSI), published a call for projects under the Operational Programme 3.2.4 - 'Supporting the implementation of eHealth solutions and ensuring broadband connection, where necessary', at central level.
The 3.2.4 Operational Programme is part of the Area of Intervention 2 - 'Development and efficiency of the electronic public services', Priority Axis III - 'Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) for private and public sectors', of the Sectoral Operational Programme 'Increase of Economic Competitiveness (SOP IEC) 2007-2013', Priority Axis III - 'ICT for private and public sectors'.
The projects that are called for under this Operational Programme are those aiming at:
The eligible beneficiaries are the National Health Insurance House and the Ministry of Communications and Information Society, individually or in partnership. Â
The total amount allocated for this call is RON 190.5 million (approx. €45 million).
The applicants' guidelines for the Operational Programme 3.2.4 - 'Supporting the implementation of eHealth solutions and providing broadband connection, where necessary' at local level, have been submitted to the Management Authority; upon their approval, a new call for projects will be launched.
So far, 17 eHealth projects have been proposed and approved for funding under this operational programme, with an approved budget of RON 53.5 million (approx. €12.8 million). The total value of the 17 eHealth projects is RON 65.1 million (approx. €15.6 million).
The guidelines for the applicants were available for consultation on the website of the Intermediate Body for the Promotion the Information Society, at the section dedicated to public consultations. Comments on the guidelines could be sent no later than 27 May 2010.
