Since 28 December 2009, the online guide to information on health services in the region of Emilia Romagna makes it possible to know how to book a visit in a day hospital, where to go and what to bring for a consultation or a specialised health test.

The guide's search engine leads to the relevant information for accessing all the health and healthcare services delivered by the Regional Health Service (RHS) of Emilia Romagna. The page is accessible from the Saluter portal - the portal of the RHS of Emilia Romagna - and from all the websites of the health agencies at the web address http://guidaservizi.saluter.it.

By providing all the information on day hospital services, the guide is the online counterpart to the toll-free phone number of the RHS; they indeed share the same database which is constantly updated by the region and the health agencies. It is worth noting that specific editing has been performed, so as to ease the use of the database by the site's visitors.

The publication of this information has been an occasion to introduce additional services on the guide. For instance, the new section called 'online services' contains a link to the 'Pagamenti Sanità online' website which allows paying through the Internet the possible charges for a given consultation or a specialised test. Furthermore, all the consultation booking channels (phone, offices, pharmacies) of the Unified Centre for Booking ('Cup' in Italian) have been made available by province, and then by municipality.

By pressing 'site guide' ('guida al sito' in Italian), the site's visitors can obtain information on how the search engine is organised and on the necessary steps to find the information they are looking for. In order to facilitate the navigation, there is a possibility to sort the results of a search by location and by alphabetic order.
