On 13 January 2010, the Turkish 'Social Assistance Information System' (SAIS) project won the 'Public eServices to the public' award during the '7th eTürkiye (ETR) Awards'.

The Turkish Industrialists' and Businessmen' Association (TUSIAD) in collaboration with the Turkish Informatics Foundation (TBV) organised the 7th eTürkiye (ETR) Awards in Ankara, at the Cankaya Mansion, under the auspices of the Turkish President, Abdullah Gül.

In the category 'Public eServices to the public', the award was given to the project "Turkish Social Assistance Information System" of the Social Assistance and Solidarity General Directorate. The General Director of the Directorate, Aziz Yildirim, received the award from the hands of President Gül.

During the Awards' ceremony, President Gül gave a speech where he thanked the organisers and declared to be very impressed by the latest exciting developments that had been achieved in the field of eGovernment in the Turkish Public Administration.

The prizes were awarded following the organisation of an electronic vote.

Apart from the  Social Assistance and Solidarity Directorate, the Ministry of Finance, General Directorate of Accounts and the Undersecretaries of Customs, with the "Customs GÜMKART Collection System" project and the Municipality of SOKE, with the "Smart City Automation System (Akos)" project, also received eGovernment Awards.
