The "Social Assistance Information System" (SAIS, known as SOYBİS in Turkish) was presented to the public on 27 October 2009 by State Minister Hayati Yazıcı in the General Directorate of the Social Assistance and Solidarity.
This system is a replacement of the "One Step Offices" and it has as its slogan "From one step service to one click service".
Before SAIS, the government used to demand that the applicants prove that they are in need of social assistance. But now, the applicants only need to bring their ID cards.
Thanks to SAIS, the government can access the applicant's personal information from central databases that are stored in several government institutions. The system receives information from 10 different institutions. The system has already been used by over 2Â 600 registered users
Before the presentation, the State Minister provided information about the Social Assistance and Solidarity General Directorate and its activities.Â
