In light of the European Elections (4-7 June 2009), the European Parliament connects all citizens with an online video system, the multilingual EuroparlTV. On the evening of Sunday 7 June EuroparlTV will broadcast for the first time live in 22 languages the results of the European elections from the premises of the European Parliament.

Various events, products and facilities are foreseen on the night in question, including:

  • Live streaming of three debates covering the following topics: The economic and financial crisis; Social aspects of the crisis. Relaunching the economy; and, Democracy and citizenship in the EU. Quo Vadis Europa?
  • EuroparlTV will undertake live interviews with pundits and show stories shot earlier that day, until the first official figures are in;
  • Announcement of results from 10pm;
  • Live streaming of press conference from 11pm;
  • End of broadcast  at around midnight with final comments on pie-charts and the shape of European Parliament for its Seventh Term.

In addition, EuroparlTV serves as an information tool and media library, delivering content via its four channels - yourParliament, yourVoice, youngEurope and ParliamentLive. Moreover, a special section called "Discovering the European Parliament" provides European citizens with a chance to be informed about the services of the European Parliament.
