Improving Performance and Innovation in Public Administration: Analyses and researches among European e-Government experiences
Description (short summary):
This publication collects the main experiences gained by European Public Administrations in creating information procedures and online services for citizens. It is the 6th Edition of the EuroSpace Group’s Volume “e-Governance: transforming Government to build trust and quality†on the current state of eGovernment in Europe. It aims to become an annual point of reference for all European Public Administrations by addressing the latest developments obtained in the eGovernment field.
The project structure of the Volume has undergone an evolution this year. It focuses on the performance of European Public Administrations with particular regard to three specific topics, as follows:
- Document Data Flow Management and Public Administration Process Review;
- Innovation in Business and Citizen Services;
- New perspectives and opportunities coming from an integrated eGovernment platform.
It is worth noting that this reporting initiative has been carried out this year in cooperation with the Council of Europe, the European Commission, the European Institute of Public Administration, as well as a number of national bodies, including: the Ministry of Finance of Cyprus, the Slovenian Ministry of the Public Administration, the Belgian Agency for Administrative Simplification (ASA), the Belgian Federal Department for Information and Communications Technologies (Fedict), the Latvian Ministry of the Public Administration, the Danish Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, the City of Madrid, the Ministry of Public Sector Affairs and Administrative Reforms of Luxemburg, the Ministry responsible for the Office of the Hungarian Prime Minister, Digital Austria, and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The document was presented at the 'Conference Improving Performance and Innovation in Public Administration' held in Sofia, Bulgaria, on 1-2 October 2008, in cooperation with the Bulgarian Ministry of State Administration and Administrative Reform and the Italian Ministry for Public Administration and Innovation.
