Conference on Personalised Technology: Make it work
Technology is increasingly being used to deliver services. However, it is also increasingly becoming the individual's right to choose how they are supported and whether or which technology should be used. This then becomes personalised technology (PT) that encompasses all technology platforms including high and low tech devices. The conference, focusing on case studies, will explore the wider context from ethics, individual rights, policy initiatives and practice.
The aim of the conference is to explore how personalised technology can enhance quality of life during a period of increasing economic pressure. Delegates will learn about:
- Range of technology available
- Ethical framework
- EU perspective on individual rights around PT
- Learning disability policy and PT
- Pressures and solutions for providers and commissioners
- Future developments
- Real live issues
Key speakers include among others the Deputy Head of the eInclusion Unit, European Commission - Information Society Directorate General, Mr. Miguel Gonzalez-Sancho-Bodero. Family carers, paid carers, providers, practitioners, commissioners, policy makers, practice research academics and manufacturers can attend the conference.
Registration is open and can be performed online with the payment of a fee.
