Interoperable Delivery of pan-European e-Government Services to Public Administrations, Business and Citizens (IDABC) Open Source event 2009: the Power of Communities.

The IDABC Open Source Event 2009 will focus on why and how European Public Administrations invest in Open Source Communities, from multi-stakeholder management to expected outcome. It will highlight these key aspects of Free, Libre and Open Source Software (FLOSS) sustainability and present seven practical cases, closing with a panel discussion. The keynote of the day focuses on the economical aspects of sustainability.

The event is part of the Open World Forum taking place in Paris on 1-2 October 2009.

In this international event people will be able to:

  • Participate in a worldwide initiative bringing together Open Source players and decision-makers from 5 continents.
  • Explore the future of FLOSS with Innovation Awards, Trends Radars, and recommendations around a unique forward-looking initiative: the 2020 FLOSS RoadMap.
  • Share insights and best practices with many of the most respected Open Source experts and entrepreneurs worldwide.
  • Network with 1,500 CxOs, CIOs, IT Managers, architects, developers, academics and investors from more than 20 countries.

Registration to the one-day IDABC event can be performed by filling in the respective form. In case that other members of a project or institution are interested, the form should be filled in separately.
