1st Symposium on Earth Observation (EO) Satellite Business
This year's World Satellite Business Week will include a one-day Symposium on Earth Observation Business. With more than 250 Earth observation satellites to be launched in the next decade - twice the number of the past ten years - this is one of the fastest-growing industry segments and a rapidly-changing business.
Data from these satellites will be utilised in a range of applications: established space agencies have a strong focus on environment and climate change, whereas emerging space programmes look towards access to space and the utilisation of data for local/regional purposes such as disaster management and resources management. As these programs become more advanced, they will seek to become more involved within global environment frameworks.
The growing commercial data market and the shifting EO industry provide opportunities and challenges for government and commercial actors alike. This one-day forum will allow keynote speakers to discuss their business models and development strategies and to provide insight into how they intend to take advantage of the opportunities ahead in the burgeoning EO industry.Â
More information about the programme of the symposium can be found here.
The symposium is expected to host around 450 senior executives. Registration can be performed online with the payment of a fee.
