Description

Public Procurement of Innovation - a driver for future health in Europe

A large part of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the member states goes to public procurement, which can be used to drive innovation. The aim of the event is to enlighten Europe on the subject of public procurement of innovation in the life science area in order to increase the competitiveness in EU and thereby the industrial development.

The purpose of the conference is to:

  • describe the situation in EU in comparison to the rest of the world;
  • explain the legal framework and highlight points for discussion;
  • share experiences with stakeholders on identified hurdles, needs and possibilities;
  • promote good examples, to illustrate how these can be used to meet the challenges mentioned above and at the same time improve competitiveness.

Participants of the event will learn about the possibilities public procurement of innovation provides together with the most advantageous way to make use of public means. The event aims also to enlighten stakeholders and influence their mindset in a way that will contain public procurement of innovation as an obvious alternative when planning procurement.

More information about the agenda of the conference can be found here.

The number of participants is expected to be around 500. Both the conference and the dinner at the Vasa museum are free of charge. However, online registration is required.
