Fourth European eGovernment Awards 2009 Information Day
The Information Day offers a unique opportunity to learn more about this year's awards, the submission and selection process, and the European Ministerial eGovernment Conference to be held on 19 and 20 November in Malmö, Sweden. At the Information Day, all those interested in submitting a case for the European eGovernment Awards 2009 will be able to ask questions and will have the chance to meet members of the European eGovernment Awards Consortium and European Commission representatives.
Since 2003, the prestigious European eGovernment Awards have been awarded for outstanding practices in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) use in European public sector organisations.
The solutions presented and experiences shared through previous editions of the European eGovernment Awards have inspired many others and contributed to the implementation of European eGovernment strategies and action plans. The European eGovernment Awards are organised every two years. They play a major role in the European Commission's good epractice exchange initiative in the field of eGovernment and:
- They are integrated parts of the European Ministerial eGovernment Conferences.
- They coincide with regular policy reviews undertaken at high-level EU eGovernment conferences.
- They support the implementation of European eGovernment policy and action plans within the wider framework of information society policies and strategies (i2010) and the overall objectives of the Lisbon agenda to promote growth and jobs in the European Union.
Participation in the Information Day is open to all ePractice members and free of charge; however, registration must be performed on the ePractice.eu portal at www.epractice.eu/en/workshops/egovawards. Since the seats are limited early registration is recommended. Information on case submission can be found here.
