“INSPIREd Central and Eastern European Spatial Data Infrastructures” (CEE-SDI) – International Geospatial conference joint with the Information systems in Agriculture and Forestry (ISAF) Conference 2009

The INSPIREd CEE-SDI conference is organised in accordance with the priorities of the Czech Presidency of the European Union and the INSPIRE principles. The event pursues the following objectives:

  • Explore the state of play in Central and Eastern European countries regarding Geoinformation (GI) and SDIs;
  • Raise awareness of the benefits of GI and promote the advantages of modern SDI for the enlarged Europe, especially for CEE countries, with respect to their specific conditions;
  • Identify the extent to which INSPIRE could be a catalyst for the development of GI & SDIs in CEE countries;
  • Identify opportunities for practical assistance with the establishment and/or development of National GI Associations in CEE countries where stakeholders request it;
  • Discuss and promote the future funding to support ongoing /future NGIA and GI/SDI development in CEE countries.

The target audience is made of those who would have an interest in participating in the formation of a NGIA or strengthening an existing one.

Registration is to be performed online. The regular participation fee is €80. Special rates are available.

It is to be noted that the conference will be preceded by two workshops; “Living Labs for Spatial Data Development (LL4SDI)” and “Living Labs as Enabler of Rural Development (LL4R)” to be held on 11 and 12 May 2009 respectively.
