20th World Computer Congress - WCC 2008 The 20th edition of World Computer Congress is an event dedicated to Sciences, Information Technologies and Communications. Organised under the advocacy of the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP), it will take place for the first time in Italy.
During the four days of congress, 1500-2000 delegates coming from 70 different countries will debate the main topical questions and perspectives of the ICT domain in the Knowledge Society of the 21st century.
The program of WCC 2008 includes: Opening session, technical conferences, topical session, cross sessions and conferences. Several cross sessions will handle different interesting topics, among which: eInclusion, eGovernment, ICT for Cultural Heritage, ICT for Environment, ICT Professionalism & Competences, ICT for Health, Web 2.0, and ICT for Education.
In particular, the eInclusion cross session and conference will be focused on giving visibility of good practices and planned initiatives of both the European Commission and Italian Government. The cross session on eGovernment will present the best practices and results obtained by the Italian Public Administration, both central and local.
WCC 2008 will be an opportunity to share with and listen to world-renowned ICT experts. It will furthermore provide integration between Applications, Research, Industries and Institutions. This new Italian approach will therefore give the possibility to match the specific subjects of the technical conferences with cross subjects of the Italian reality.
Expected conference attendees are worldwide ICT professionals, academics, workers, students, scientists and representatives from all the involved institutions.
