e-Government & Decentralisation Conference 2005 Ireland<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
So perhaps you are ready for the 2005 deadlines - but what comes next?
In Ireland huge steps have been made to improve the interface with citizens and to facilitate ease of communication, but agencies are still being driven to focus on aspects of e-government such as: raising the interest of the public, creating citizen and business focused portals, interoperability, integration, streamlining administration processes, breaking down the barriers between departments. In addition, Irish government agencies have been targeted with decentralisation, a programme aimed at improving the distribution of public employment across Ireland. This controversial initiative is expected to drive the requirement for further technology assessment and investment. Much focus has been given to the deadline of 2005 but government agencies must continue to evolve and adapt their use and implementation of technology. Clearly there is still plenty to do. IDC's e-Government & Decentralisation Conference will provide a highly interactive forum comprising keynote speakers, standard presentations, panel sessions and end-user case studies that will highlight paths for further progress beyond 2005.
