Description

VIGOR++ Workshop 2012 - New Diagnostic Tools for Bowel Diseases

This workshop will explore advances in the integration of clinical data and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) analysis, classification and visualisation within the concept of the Virtual Physiological Human (VPH). These are enabling the development of a multi scale, personalised gastrointestina (GI) tract model-based diagnostic tool deployable on a cloud computing platform. Results aim to demonstrate accurate detection and grading of Crohn's disease that affects 700 000 people in Europe alone.

Attendees have a wide range of backgrounds representing all parts of the supply chain including:

  • researchers in universities and hospitals
  • diagnostics and device companies
  • public health authorities
  • private healthcare providers
  • market analysts and patient groups.

Participants will benefit from a programme featuring leading experts, focused on best practices, smart algorithms, practical tips and take-home messages that will help them improve their research and patient outcomes. In addition the Workshop will offer opportunities to learn about the:

  • latest screening protocols used for the diagnosis bowel diseases from medical professionals;
  • newest algorithms designed to process efficiently and accurately multi-scale data;
  • paradigm shift in GI modelling in the context of Virtual Physiological Human and prepare your strategy;
  • innovative ICT systems handling medical data in real-time by attending the planned demonstrations;
  • emerging portals that empower patients towards self-care.

People interested in participating must send their application to workshop@vigorpp.eu.
