World e-ID Congress - 'Identity Services for Government, Healthcare and Business'
World e-ID originally established itself as a conference for the public sector (then known as the Smart Event),
addressing eID standardisation technical issues among European Union countries. It rapidly enlarged its scope to cover government eID programmes worldwide, their status and innovations, the new secure ID technologies (biometrics, access control, data management etc) and their applications to eHealth and enterprises, as well as cross-technology issues such as interoperability,
security, privacy etc.
This year, a wider panel of large scale eID projects will give a worldwide benchmark of technical choices, best practices, approaches and policies. Specific focus will be given on emerging countries: results, trends and opportunities with the support of the World Bank. EU projects and organisations will be thoroughly represented.
During the interactive panels, both industry and public key representatives will debate with the audience on topical issues and emerging trends such as:
- Harmonisation of policies at EU scale and beyond
- Cross border issues and approaches for travel documents
- Biometrics applications trends, standards and interoperability issues
- Privacy issues
Focus will also be placed on presenting new industry solutions.
The programme's thematic sessions will include:
- Government eID projects
- Healthcare
- eID-based eServices
- Secure Documents
- Multiple eID and business aspects
Call for submission of papers with deadline for abstract submissions 23 March 2012
From a European Union-centric approach at the beginning, World e-ID attracts now an expert audience coming from over 45 countries: industry and governments' representatives, eID experts and consultants.
World e-ID is co-located with NFC World Congress and Chip-to-Cloud Security Forum.
