eHealth Week 2012 - A collocation of the European Commission's High Level Ministerial Conference on eHealth and the World of Health IT Conference & Exhibition (WoHIT12)
eHealth Week is Europe's largest pan-European conference. It brings together two main events: the 10th edition of the eHealth High level Conference co-organised by the European Commission and the Danish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, and WoHIT (World of Health IT Conference & Exhibition) organised by HIMSS Europe (Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society Europe). In addition, several symposia, workshops and focus groups relevant to eHealth will take place throughout the week.
eHealth Week 2012 will be dedicated to the theme 'The continuity of care and patient centric health services through the use of innovative eHealth solutions'. Focus will be placed on the continuity of care from home to hospital and back to home, demonstrating how information can flow between these different settings. It will include topics such as patient empowerment and chronic disease management involving investment and business opportunities in healthcare IT.
The 10th High Level Ministerial Conference on eHealth will provide a platform where Member States' Health ministers and state secretaries will gather to discuss and advance common actions to move forward the many initiatives in this fast-moving field in the Member States.
Designated as one of Europe's six 'lead markets' for innovation, eHealth is a rising star in the growing EU Economy. WoHIT12 will focus on shaping and developing the use, implementation, and evolution of this pillar of the new European marketplace. The WoHIT 2012 Exhibition will feature new product launches, educational sessions, vendor exhibitions, interoperability demonstrations, as well as a an SME Village (new) where small to medium enterprises will exhibit and bring new ideas, solutions and products to the healthcare IT industry.
