Description

9th Scandinavian Workshop on eGovernment (SWEG 2012) - 'User-centric eGovernment'

This event is a forum for discussing current eGovernment research issues. The workshop is dedicated to open discussions about the current status of eGovernment research and future directions. The focus is thus on informal discussion rather than on formal conference presentations.

With the diffusion of ICT in the public sector in countries across the world, and the widespread inclusion of digitalisation in government strategic plans, it is now time for eGovernment research to shift its focus to the citizen role in eGovernment processes. The emergence of social media, the evolution of Web 2.0 platforms, together with rising expectations from citizens as users of digital services, highlight the need to adopt a user-centric view of eGovernment design, management, and implementation.

The focus of invited submissions thus includes, but is not limited to:

  • Social media and eGovernment services
  • Citizen-centric eGovernment maturity models
  • eDemocracy and eParticipation
  • Transparency and openness in eGovernment services
  • Engaging stakeholders eGovernment research
  • User-driven eGovernment design, management, and implementation
  • Challenges of open-source and open-standard solutions in eGovernment
  • Methods and concepts of participatory eGovernment processes
  • Innovative design and prototypes of eGovernment services.
