Description

1st Digital Agenda Assembly

The Digital Agenda for Europe (DAE) is the European Union's strategy for developing the digital society and economy, launched in May 2010.

The Digital Agenda Assembly is a milestone in the delivery of the Digital Agenda, which foresees "an annual Digital Assembly in June bringing together Member States, EU institutions, citizens' representatives and industry to assess progress and emerging challenges". This event thus aims at supporting the DAE by assessing progress, identifying challenges and stimulating contributions.

The Digital Agenda Assembly is open to citizens and representatives from non-governmental organisations, EU institutions, industry, administrations of European countries and all those who are interested in the Information Society.

The Assembly will address key topics relating to information and communications technology and its impacts on the society and economy, including topics relating to:

  • Digital market
  • Trust and security
  • Interoperability and standards
  • Fast connections
  • Research and innovations
  • Skills, literacy, and inclusion
  • ICT and societal benefits

The draft programme has been made available here.
