Description

Applied Geoinformatics for Society and Environment (AGSE) 2010 - Third Summer School and Conference

The overall scope of the AGSE conferences & summer schools is to offer an interdisciplinary, international forum for sharing knowledge about the application of Geoinformatics with focus on application and on developing countries. The content is twofold and participative. There will be professional training and workshops about current topics in the fields of Geoinformatics and Photogrammetry as well as reports (presentations) from the participants about applications and developments in their countries.

The topics around which the event will revolve are the following:

  • Environmental Issues, Sustainable Development
  • Millennium Development Goals
  • Photogrammetry, Earth Observation Systems, Information Extraction
  • Spatial Data Infrastructures
  • Internet based Applications
  • LIDAR Data Analysis
  • GIS and Education
  • Geoinformatics and Health
  • Neogeography and Geovisualisation
  • GI Policy and Society, e-Government
  • Open Source Solutions and Tools.

There is also a preliminary list of the planned Workshops in the context of the event:

  • Geo-Mashups in the Web 2.0 environment
  • Open Source GIS and Tools
  • Workshop on "R" for geospatial Analysis-Geodata Integration
  • Remote Sensing: Sensors - Data - Value Adding
  • Workshop Process Management
  • Adjustment computation and robust estimation
  • XML Technologies in Geoinformatics.

Interested parties have four different options for participating in the conference: simple participation, reviewed paper and participation, oral presentation and poster presentation.
