French National BRIDGE-IT Seminar

The BRIDGE-IT Thematic Network is a European project gathering experts in the fields of education, employment and civil society working on ICT for social integration and cultural diversity, with an emphasis on immigrants and ethnic minorities. This event is the French national seminar organised within the Network's framework.

In France, the DAREIC (academic delegation for European and international relations and cooperation) is a partner of BRIDGE-IT. This working group has as an objective to provide the European Commission with analysis elements and proposals on the global theme of social integration and cultural diversity, with regard to the priorities set down in the Lisbon programme, in particular the digital inclusion of migrants and ethnic minorities in the European space.  

The DAREIC is active in the fields of education and lifelong learning; it brings its expertise regarding the mobility of students in the European Union and the conditions promoting their integration in the French educational system. The use of ICT to help students in the frame of language and cultural learning process is a national and academic priority, in which the DAREIC takes an active part within the BRIDGE-IT Group.  

The French national seminar will bring together all the stakeholders concerned with the themes of BRIGE-IT as direct actors, experts, disseminators and multipliers in the three relevant domains (education, employment and civil society). Practical examples and tools selected by the BRIGE-IT Expert Group will be presented on this occasion in order to consider their implementation in each of the three domains. The seminar aims to explore collaboration tracks between participants in such domains. An event report will then be transmitted to the European Commission.  

The event is organised in line with a pre-set framework for a set of national BRIDGE-IT seminars that will also take place in Germany, in Italy, in Spain and in the Czech Republic.
