First World e-Gov Forum (WeGF) Event
The World e-Gov Forum (WeGF) succeeds to the 'World e-democracy forum' founded in 2000 by the city of Issy-les-Moulineaux (France). From 2010 on, the WEGF changes its concept. At the core of this new format is the news website www.wegf.org, a tool to debate, learn and exchange, managed by a specialised editorial staff and supported by a worldwide telepresence network. Events will also be organised throughout the year by the Forum's state and non-state partners.
The present event is the first of these events. It will benefit of the patronage of French Prime Minister François Fillon and State Secretary for Forward Planning and the development of the Digital Economy, Ms. Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet.
The event will consist of:
- several plenary conferences taking place at the headquarters of various WeGF partners;
- the hearing of the award candidates inthe city of Issy-les-Moulineaux and the eDemocracy and eGovernment Awards ceremony;
- eDemocracy breakfasts and debates.
The debates and conferences will be fully international, with the possibility for remote speakers to interact in real time using a network of 800 telepresence rooms all over the world. The broadcast of all the plenary conferences on the Internet and on dedicated smart phones applications will enable people from all over the world to follow the Forum.
Registration to this first event will be made available online.  Â
