European Platform for Rehabilitation (EPR) Annual Conference 2010 - 'Society Needs All Hands: Rehabilitation services as a bridge to participation in society and employment'
The present conference will take place on its first day in Helsinki - Finland and on the second day in Tallinn - Estonia. Its theme is closely connected to the leading idea at EU level to empower people with disabilities and integrate them in employment and/or society. It will focus on the benefits for all stakeholders of having more people with disabilities in the labour market, and will present the role that various types of services play in that process.
Apart from setting out the international policy context and presenting existing services, the opportunities as well as the limitations of using assistive technologies for (vocational) reintegration purposes will be analysed. Finally, the participants will explore the importance of using evidence based practice and international benchmarking as methods to optimise both policies and service-provision.Â
