1st European Avante Workshop on technologies for the elderly - 'Ageing Well: How Technologies can help - Driving innovation towards the real needs of the AAL market'
The workshop will be looking at the challenges and opportunities represented by technological innovations used in the social and healthcare sphere to improve the independence and quality of life of elderly people. It will also present the European policies geared towards promoting the use of new technologies in this field, and what financing mechanisms are available.
The event aims to promote a debate with representatives from the different players involved: from the European Commission, Mr. Peter Wintlev-Jensen, Deputy Head of Unit, ICT for Inclusion, Directorate-General Information Society and Media (DG INFSO), to regional policy makers, representatives from the industry, and end users, around the topic of how to bridge the gap between technology and the real needs of the market.
The workshop consists of two panels with the following topics to be discussed:
- Panel 1: Background and future of EU activities: the Lisbon Treaty as a turning point;
- Panel 2: Toward a European Market for advanced services for the elderly: enablers and barriers.
Detailed information about the workshop can be found in the programme.
The workshop is part of the activities of the SALON AVANTE, a multi-sector and multidisciplinary Exhibition & Networking Forum.
Registration is free-of-charge; however, completing the respective form is mandatory.
