5th International Health Summit - 'Population Ageing and Chronic Diseases Management: Challenges for Health Reforms'
The 5th International Health Summit will address a major challenge of present times: the provision of adequate healthcare in respect with population ageing. In the coming fifteen years the system for the provisioning and financing of healthcare in the Czech Republic as well as in other developed countries will be facing expanding growth in demand for healthcare and social services. This demand will lead to significant changes in the financing and the provisioning of health care and health-related social services.
The Summit will bring together 200 delegates from payers and providers of health services, education and research institutions, public administration and patient organisations from more than 20 countries.
Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in discussions on the contemporary challenges facing health systems in terms of ensuring the access to necessary health services while population is ageing and economic conditions are deteriorating. They will furthermore be presented with information and experiences of the implementation of innovative solutions for the financing and organisation of complex services for the elderly and the chronically ill.
A pre-conference workshop to be held on 25 April 2010 will be dedicated to chronic disease management and long term care in EU countries, including Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia.
Several of the conference sessions will cover ehealth aspects, in particular:
- Delivery models for health maintenance and chronic disease management (Remote Monitoring of Patients with Cardiac Diseases, Information Technologies in Chronic Healthcare Management)
- Delivery models for integrated services related to ageing;
- Future of health care for ageing population (Panel discussions).
Registration is now open and can be performed online. The event is open to all; registration requires the payment of a fee. Â
