Webit e-GOV Summit for South Eastern Europe 2010

Webit e-GOV Summit for South Eastern Europe is an event on e-governance that is supported by the Bulgarian and the Turkish governments as co-organisational partners of e-Academy. The Governments of Greece and Romania are also expected to join the conference as co-organisers.

The Conference will showcase the real-world application of contemporary technologies in government and municipal sectors and will show government employees and contractors how to apply technology best practices to government programmes, and in turn introduce new companies to the government market.

Among the visitors are: Ministers and deputy Ministers of the regional governments; heads of governmental agencies; mayors (their presence is a responsibility of the organisational partners - the local ministries); technology innovators at all levels of  government; developers and IT professionals in city, municipality and state agencies; private-sector businesses in the Internet industry interested in helping government; government contractors and consultants; political activists; public policy academics; representatives of European Commission; mass media; and solution providers from the private sector.

Conference topics include:

  • Government as an Enterprise;
  • Government-Citizens Interactions;
  • Telecom and Internet Regulatory Challenges and Opportunities;
  • Innovation & Sustainable e-Health;
  • EU Programmes for Local and Regional Development;
  • eGov Information security and Trustworthy e-ID services;
  • Economic Growth for Local Governments through ICT;
  • Best Practices and Lessons Learned.

The call for papers is now open. More details on papers submission and important dates can be found online.

The organisers of this open and free of charge event are expecting more than 200 participants. The registration details will be made public in the near future.
