Description

Virtual Physiological Human Conference 2010

The Virtual Physiological Human Network of Excellence (VPH NoE) is an umbrella project representing the Virtual Physiological Human Initiative (VPH-I) set up by the European Commission with a budget of approx. €350 million for the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7). VPH-I lists, as its main target outcome, patient-specific computer models for personalised and predictive healthcare and ICT-based tools for modelling and simulation of human physiology and disease-related processes.

VPH 2010 is the first one in a series of events designed to be a key resource for the VPH NoE to produce a 'VPH Vision and Strategy Document' to inform the next European Commission calls for the VPH field for FP7, FP8 and for European large infrastructural actions.

The conference will be dedicated to VPH-I, bringing together key representatives from VPH groups, Industry and Clinics. It is designed to be a relatively small meeting up to a maximum of 200 participants with high profile key speakers and it will aim to contain the very best of VPH research.

Parallel sessions will be held on both days with proposed topics in five main themes; Organ Systems, Modelling Scales, Research Methodology, Application Domains and Data Access and Information Assurance.

The organisers anticipate increasing the size and scope of the VPH conference in subsequent years.

Registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis, unless applications exceed the meeting's capacity, in which case active participation (submitted abstract) will be considered. Registration can be performed online.
