eHealth national co-ordination & alignment conference - 'Assessing strategies, priorities & implementation'
At the December 2009 meeting of the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) the Federal, State and Territory Governments agreed to provide the framework for national healthcare identifiers. This framework - called the Healthcare Identifiers Service (HIS) - will underpin the development of a nationally-consistent electronic health system and is expected to operate from July 2010.Â
This conference will give a strategic overview of ehealth developments in Australia and examine current systems in the context of the four strategic workstreams identified in the National eHealth Strategy: foundations; ehealth solutions; governance; change and adoption. It will help healthcare providers to develop their organisational capacity to seamlessly adopt an electronically-based system of care, which can operate within a national framework.Â
The agenda of Day 1 and Day 2 have been made available. A pre-conference workshop to be held on the eve of the conference will focus on 'Defining, measuring & achieving success in ehealth implementation' and a final workshop on the day following the conference will be dedicated to the theme 'Connecting healthcare providers for integrated, reliable care'. Â
Registration to this open event is to be performed online; it requires the payment of a fee.Â
