Description

Third INSPIRE Conference

The third INSPIRE conference takes place in conjunction with the Eleventh International Conference of the Global Spatial Data Infrastructure (GSDI) Association entitled “Building SDI Bridges to Address Global Challenges” and the National conference on Dutch SDI: Results and Challenges.

The INSPIRE Conference provides a forum for stakeholders from government, academia and industry to hear about and discuss the latest developments of the INSPIRE Directive.

This year, by teaming with the GSDI and Dutch National conferences, the INSPIRE conference encompasses a conference programme, technical tutorials and workshops, a programme of demonstrations and an exhibition to provide an ideal opportunity to learn and network with like-minded colleagues from around the world.

The focus of the INSPIRE sessions and workshops will be placed on reviewing the progress of the implementation of the INSPIRE Directive and on the development of Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDIs) in general.

The event's objectives are to:

  • View the current state of progress of the INSPIRE legislation;
  • Share knowledge on the progress of transposition of the INSPIRE Directive in the Member States;
  • Offer an opportunity to the INSPIRE Drafting Teams and Thematic Working Groups to report on the development of the INSPIRE Implementing Rules;
  • Further the understanding of the implementation challenges, costs, and benefits of SDIs at national, regional, and local level;
  • Identify key issues and opportunities for European SDI projects;
  • Build SDI Bridges to Address Global Challenges.

Participation requires prior online registration at the website of the 11th GSDI Conference. Various fees apply and early rates are available for those booking by 15 March 2009.
