3nd Annual Conference on TelemedMeeting 2009

The event will focus on home care and home support. Demographic and economic developments increasingly place constraints on how healthcare will be delivered over the next decades and on how this sector will be transformed. The conference aims to help all participants in this area to exploit new technologies and to urgently find adaptive healthcare solutions for patients and institutions that are economically and socially viable.

The objectives of the event are:

• to bring all players (general practitioners, public and private healthcare professionals, scientists, patients and other consumers) together to identify their real needs and expectations;
• to facilitate interactions and promote creativity from the analysis of offer and demand;
• to acquire a global overview of the different problem areas in both French and Swiss Healthcare systems;
• to identify new guidelines for Governments in order to promote the emergence of telemedicine in Europe and better understand relevant issues;
• to strengthen French-Swiss synergies in order to initiate new cross-border cooperative projects that the French-Swiss Foundation for Research and Technology (FFSRT) wishes to support;
• to balance the efforts in order to find new solutions and ideas allowing us to face future challenges.

Important speakers will give presentations covering the following areas:

• telemedicine and e-health: the importance of managed care; presentation of projects conducted in France, Switzerland and Quebec;
• telemedicine and e-health: current developments and future changes;
• expectations & needs of patients;
• institutional support;
• featured market sectors of home care and home support ;
• training in the areas of e-health;
• research skills & know-how: 'Cluster & Living Lab's: new ways to innovate'.
