Open Conference on Data Protection and Privacy of the CEN/ISSS Workshop on Data Protection and Privacy

The aim of this open conference is to engage in a public consultation on the current work of the CEN/ISSS Workshop on Data Protection and Privacy. The following projects will be presented:

  • Project 1 on EU privacy audit tools, addressing a practical approach of audit tools for data managers, enabling them to perform regulatory self assessments;
  • Project 2 on producing a Common European set of voluntary Best Practices for data protection management to help businesses and data managers comply with the Directive, with diverse European national laws and with other privacy and data protection regulatory requirements;
  • Project 3 that aims to describe a Voluntary Technology Dialogue Framework to enable industry, service providers and regulators to work together during the development cycle of new products and services to improve privacy and data protection.

Attendance is free of charge but subject to advance registration. Those wishing to participate are requested to send an email with their name and organisation to Françoise Wanson by 29 January 2009.
