The European Privacy Seal Interactive Workshop
The European Privacy Seal (EuroPriSe) project provides market validation of a trans-European privacy seal issued by independent third parties certifying compliance of IT products and IT-based services with European regulations on privacy and data security. The European Commission has assigned a consortium of nine European organisations and enterprises to run this project. Additional information on EuroPriSe is available at www.european-privacy-seal.eu.
The European Privacy Seal Interactive Workshop will focus on market trends and key differentiators for IT products and IT-based services certified to comply with European privacy regulations.
The first part of the workshop is intended to meet the needs of both companies and public authorities. This session will sum up the commercial market development of privacy protection in Europe and share hands-on experience from companies. These aspects are completed by governmental authorities concerned with consumer protection and privacy in society as they give their reflections on the subject.
The second part of the workshop is divided into two separate workstreams running in parallel and addressing companies or subject matter experts and public authorities respectively:
- The company workstream is tailored for the needs of companies considering a European privacy certification. Participants will meet companies that have been through the certification process and will be able to discuss with them their business case for doing it, the efforts involved and other lessons learned.
- The subject matter experts and public authorities workstream is specifically aimed at providing subject matter experts and representatives from public authorities with detailed insights on how the regulatory framework is applied across Europe using EuroPriSe. Meet the experts that have performed evaluations of products and services to discuss and understand the challenges and opportunities lying ahead in the market.
The workshop is free of charge and open. Additional information (speakers, programme, etc) is available at the workshop’s website. Registration can be performed online. Over 150 attendees are expected.
