Description

4th eIndia Conference

This three-day international conference and exhibition is planned to create a unique platform for knowledge sharing in different domains of ICT for development (ICT4D) and facilitate multi-stakeholder partnership development and professional networking among governments, industry, academia and civil society organisations of India and Asia, as well as beyond (Africa, Latin America, Europe and North America).

The objective is to bring together ICT4D experts, practitioners, business leaders and stakeholders onto one platform, through keynote addresses, paper presentations, thematic workshops, exhibition while providing in the process an opportunity for participants to interact with a wide and diverse development community, to carry forward the vision of the region and consolidate them into an actionable programme. Particular to this year's Conference, one new theme is added focusing on ‘Municipal IT’.

The delivery of eINDIA2008 will be in such way that the growing need for a multi-stakeholder participation of seven overlapping domains of ICT4D, namely - eGov and digitalLEARNING, eHEALTH and mServe, Telecentre Forum, eAgriculture, and Municipal IT is addressed under a single knowledge-sharing platform allowing people and organisations working in apparently isolated domains of ICTD, to intertwine with each other and engage themselves in mutual experience sharing and understanding of convergent issues in their individual pursuit for development.

The conference will comprise seven tracks, including the following:

  • egov INDIA2008 to provides a platform for all stakeholders, policy-makers, practitioners, industry leaders, academicians and architects of e-Government projects, to discuss the achievements, challenges, and the progress made towards achieving the goals of e-Governance. Key themes cover, among others: Infrastucture, National ID, Financial Inclusion, eDistrict and eProcurement;
  • eHEALTH India 2008 for the industry to celebrate success stories, debate controversies, discuss strategies, deliberate business policies, echo innovations and investigate opportunities awaiting the healthcare industry in India.

Registration can be performed online. The Pre registration fee for foreign delegates is US$ 300 (approx. €195) while registration on the spot amounts to US$ 350 (approx. €227).
