“Improving Performance and Innovation in Public Administration: analysis and researches among European eGovernment experiences”

After the international conference held in Vilnius (Lithuania) on 8 October 2007 in collaboration with the local Government, the organisers continue to carry out a programmed series of conventions in Europe coinciding with the annual publication of the e-Government Volume. As every year, the publication is supported by the European Union and many EU Member States.

The edition 2008 “Improving Performance and Innovation in Public Administration: analyses and researches among European eGovernment experiences” will be presented in this event in Sofia in collaboration with the local Ministry of State Administration and Administrative Reform and the Italian Department of Public Administration.

The conference will be an opportunity to consider the provision of knowledge and skills concerning local ICT development in Bulgaria, but also an important occasion to illustrate a qualified analysis of different experiences gained by European Public Administrations in the field of technological innovation. Moreover, in order to give the event a more scientific value, a commission of authoritative characters and experts from universities and businesses will be asked to take part.

Apart from supplying a complete and well-constructed overview of the current developments and trends in eGovernment sphere, the conference will be specifically aimed at:

• Introducing the European public the e-Government Volume published every year; 
• Introducing the best know-how of Bulgaria and foreign Public Administration institutions and private sector undertakings, while exchanging opinions and networking with representatives of the institutions of EU Member States;
• Introducing the condition and the developmental guidelines pertaining to eGovernance in Bulgaria and discuss multifunctional solutions that could boost a dialogue between public administration institutions, businesses and citizen, as well as impact on effective implementation of both the eGovernance and eEurope concepts;
• Discussing objectives, criteria, and methods to be used in eGovernance policy in order to achieve better effectiveness for the Bulgarian public sector and a greater competitive ability for the state.
