Description

Open workshop on “Regional Broadband: the Universal Service Obligation (USO) and the Next Generation Access ( NGA)” - A discussion on future trends The European Commission has recently opened the debate as to whether the USO should be extended to include ‘basic’ broadband. Most regions are concerned with competitiveness, jobs and inclusion and should ensure they are well informed on the issues relating to them – especially the USO and what could mean to include broadband, the state of the art with respect to NGA, and what role the regions should play in this unfolding scenario.

The workshop aims to bring together well-informed commentators in these important fields and will provide opportunities to engage them in debate through Round Table Discussions and Q&A sessions.

The event brochure and draft agenda have been made available.

Registration is to be performed by filling out the dedicated form which is to be returned completed either by email to admin@erisa.be or by fax to +32 (0)2 230 92 01 not later than 1 December 2008. Participation is free of charge.
