Description

“eLearning for All: an open opportunity shown by i-AFIEL”

The project i-AFIEL (“Innovative approaches for a full inclusion in eLearning” is one of the 9 digital alphabetization projects approved by the European Commission within call 2006 of the eLearning programme.

The message of the project’s final conference is “eLearning for All is an open opportunity”. By summarising the activity and results of the 18 months of the project, the event is primarily intended to share and disseminate the process and the results, which confirm the starting assumption of i-AFIEL.

This event will show how the consortium work, enriched by contributions from all the involved parties across Europe, with the detailed analysis of selected eLearning best cases, has achieved focus on the innovative approaches enabling further full inclusion in eLearning.

Benchmarking, networking and dissemination of monthly newsletters, enabled all the elements studied to be distilled into the final Guidelines. The guidelines, available in the three languages of the consortium (EN, ES, IT), can help each party involved into eLearning in the next developments to come, from technology to pedagogy.

The one-day agenda of the conference features, among others:

  • Welcome and Keynote speeches (by Government representatives and the European Commission);
  • Presentation of the i-AFIEL project and activities (local projects, benchmarking, networking &dissemination, guidelines and conclusions);
  • Lectures and open discussion (eLearning access, technology or pedagogy problem?; New on-line teacher/tutor role; eLearning communities & social networks).

The i-AFIEL consoritum is composed of the Directorate General for Modernisation, Valencia regional authority (coordinator, Spain); Foundation OVSI (Spain); Foundation Comunidad Valenciana-Región Europea (Spain); Telefónica I+D (Spain); Association Kelidòn (Italy), EIPA-CEFASS, European Institute for Public Administration, (Italy); and Walsall Deaf People Centre (United Kingdom).
