Following the INTERREG IIIC-BRISE project, certain partners had a first hand experience of other region’s good practices, yielding to an apparent interest and will to transfer some of these good practices to their own regions. These good practices could be ideally implemented within the framework of the INTERREG IVC Capitalisation project, where the development of an Action Plan could be integrated into the regional Operation Programmes.

PIKE involves 5 of the former BRISE partners: Donegal, Derry, Olomouc, Cantabria and Bologna. Vasternorrland and Galway. These partners share the same ICT challenges and needs, in addition to having identified and endorsed good practices.

In an effort to balance the geographic scope of the project; broaden the partners’ experiences and test the good practices in different socio/economic contexts; the regions of Bulgaria South East and Sterea Ellada were invited to participate. The relevant bodies responsible for the regional Operational Programmes per region were approached to participate and contribute at an early stage.
