Impact, innovation and results

Impact

The training provided the opportunity to 260 public assistance recipient’s in obtaining some basic skills in Information Technology in order to improve their employability. From the 260 participants, around 100 found employment. Social Welfare Services are planning to implement a similar programme in the new Programming Period of the Structural Funds 2007-2013.

Track record of sharing

Social partners were involved in the project. Several publicity actions were promoted, with the active participation of public services, social partners and Non-Governmental Organisations.

Lessons learnt

The majority of the public assistance recipients had no skills in Information Technology and some had no educational qualifications. The private labour market needs specialised training in Information Technology and the programmes were a good beginning in obtaining these skills. Some of the public assistance recipients showed increased interest in continuing this education at their own cost and obtain the approved qualifiactions.
