    Case Abstract

A web space showing the six schools of the IIstituto Comprensivo di Montecchio Emilia (Italy). The project is a link with parents and the other educational opportunities in the area: a request for real collaboration and full sharing of values and educational objectives. This year we did our web site all over again, to conform ourselves to regulations in accessibility matters for school websites. It has received the accessibility logo from C.N.I.P.A. (Informatics National Centre of Public Authority)

    Impact, innovation and results

    Impact

It is an accessible school website for a quality school. We still have to work a lot, both technically and in contents, to reach the total interactivity with our users.

    Innovation:
Our site is included in the best school web sites in Italy, within the ministerial Project named "Scuola e Servizi": (http://www.scuolaeservizi.it/siti_eccellenza.htm). It's a good practice for Italian schools.
In our Institut, teachers use ICT. Students and their teacher have got a blog named "Oltre l'Ora di Religione" (http://blog.scuolaer.it/IRCplus) that is included in GOLD of Indire, the best Italian school practices (http://gold.indire.it/nazionale/archivio/index.php?action=read_esperienza&id_esperienza=BDP-GOLD00000000001FBBF6).

    Lessons learnt

Lesson 1 - A quality school must have an accessible school web site.

Lesson 2 - A school site must be a place to visit and to share.

Lesson 3 - Best school practices motivate operators and users.
