Impact
The Mining Statistics of Spain, traditionally made by the Ministry of Industry, is the most comprehensive information on production in the extractive sector in Spain. The requirement of completion of national statistics is governed by the provisions of Law 12/1989 on the Civil Service Statistics, Statistics Mining being in Spain one of the statistics reports in the National Statistical Plan and its annual programs.
This application has been developed in order to process all information from all extractive companies in Spain and build a complete statistics reports of all its aspects: production, quantities and values of extraction yield, sectorization, distribution and investments in the sector, employment, accident rates risk, and so on.
Track record of sharing
More than 6 500 users send each year information to create the statistical information about mining sector in Spain.
Today, according to the latest statistics of mining production for commercial mining sectors, , production amounted to about €4 359 M, representing an increase of just over 9% compared to € 3 985M last year.
The extractive industries are described as follows:
- Energy products: They include anthracite, coal, sub-bituminous coals, lignite, crude petroleum and natural gas.
- Metal Minerals: These include bullion, copper concentrate, nickel-copper concentrate, nickel and tin ore.
- Industrial Minerals: Include a variety of minerals, sepiolite, glauberite, sea salt, washed kaolin, rock salt, quartz, feldspar and bentonite.
- Ornamental rocks: Alabaster, diorite and sandstone, limestone, quartzite, diorite, granite, marble and ornamental slate.
- Quarry products, including limestone, sand and gravel, granite, clay, dolomite, gypsum, silica sand, quartzite not ornamental, Ophites and marl.
It is also important to note the information regarding the employment generated by companies in individual farms that may have, whether the company itself or by contract, as well as accident data and risk indices.

Lessons learnt
The general trend of the Spanish mining sector is a slight increase in the amount of material, and in the number of farms and jobs.
In the 4 291 existing businesses, there are between 43 968 jobs that include indoor and outdoor staff, graduates and administrative cadres. More than 2 500 jobs are covered by women.
An increase of more than 1 000 jobs over the previous statistical year has taken place.
Another important factor is the mining statistics of accidents and the risk ratings, which can bring about stricter control of accidents  in the mining sectors.

Interesting.
Very interesting project.
Interesting Project
At first glance I thought it as a data mining project, Â but when I read the details I understand the project. Since I am a statistician, I know that collecting the correct data is very essential.
