In the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum held in Geneve, the Raising the Floor Consortium was presented. This international consortium is composed of a large amount of organisations and projects aiming to: ensuring that everyone can access ICT and including anyone facing barriers due to disability, literacy, digital literacy, and aging regardless of economic resources of individuals or countries. More information in the Raising the Floor website.
One of the main projects of the consortium was also publicly presented: Cloud4all “Cloud platforms Lead to Open and Universal access for people with Disabilities and for all”. Cloud4all aims to develop a complete new paradigm in accessibility, by replacing adaptation of individual products and services for a person with automatic-personalisation of any mainstream product or service, using cloud technologies to activate and augment any natural (built-in) accessibility the product or service has, based on a profile of the user’s needs. More information in the Cloud4all website.
