The Unit "ICT for Inclusion", within Directorate General Information Society and Media of the European Commission, has launched a study in December last year on the Economic Assessment for Improving e-Accessibility Services and Products. The study aims at: identifying key issues for improving accessibility of mainstream ICT, with a special focus on web accessibility; developing and applying a methodological approach for estimating the costs and benefits of improving accessibility of mainstream ICT; and proposing recommendations for improving accessibility of mainstream ICT. The study is conducted by a consortium led by Technosite.
If your web site is accessible, you are thinking on making it accessible or your organisation provides services related to the web accessibility, your contribution by filling a questionnaire would greatly contribute to the results of this study; the questions contained in this questionnaire refer to the characteristics of your corporate website, to your organisation, and to the costs and benefits regarding web accessibility.
Please send an e-mail to questionnairehelpdesk@technosite.es with your contact details in order to send you the questionnaire. The project partners would also like to acknowledge your contribution to the Study by including your name and/or company in the “Support Organisations†section of its website: http://www.eaccessibility-impacts.eu/.

Count and you will find: Statistical module on citizen use in DK
While not directly related to “eAccessibility†but to actual citizen use the Danish citizen portal borger.dk have developed and implemented a statistical module for monitoring the use of online citizen services inDenmark .
Following the “IT i Praksis†and OECD reports the statistical module aim to: Â
Borger.dk and its stakeholders – the National IT- and Telecom Agency, the Association of Municipalities, Danish Regions, the Ministry of Finance etc – are collectively promoting the inclusion of the statistical module on existing and future citizen orientated eSolutions. In fact, the statistical module is currently considered the second most important citizen orientated ICT project in Denmark – second only to the roll-out of the new digital signature EasyLog-in (or NemID).
Functionality prioritised
While the “teller script†implemented on individual online solutions is carried out by the IT-providers the complexity is with borger.dk and not the solution owners. Functionality and userability has been prioritised incl:
Open access and multiple target groups
The statistical module and the data collected is freely available in the partner forum of borger.dk (ie open access). The collected data targets particularly authorities and  IT-providers (of self-service solutions) but also: Citizens; Consultants; Press/media; Researchers/academics.
