Web accessibility evaluation: The German BITV-Test in the international and European context

I thought members of the eAccessibility community might be interested in the extended notes of a talk about the German BITV-Test in the European context that I gave a while ago at a European Blind Union Technical Group Meeting, Leipzig, 26. 09. 2009. I would be very curious to have your opinion regarding all matters related to accessibility testing methodologies. You could comment here or below the notes linked to.

This is my first post to this forum - I am not quite sure
how much exchange is happening here. What I can't see right now - and
this is a design hint to the people responsible for running this forum
- is whether this blog post will be visible only within the
eAccessibility comunity (I hope this is the case) or to all users of epractice.eu.

A word about my role: I lead the BIK Test Development of the BIK project (site is in German). BIK is funded by the German Ministry for Employment and Social Affairs, and is in charge of maintaining and further developing the best known German accessibility test, the BITV-Test (links to english version of the site).

A while ago, we entered one of the consortia bidding for the eAccessibility Thematic Network contract, but were shaken out when two consortia merged. We are still interested in teaming up with other actors in this field to shape a project around workable and sound accessibility evaluation approaches. More on this subject can be found in a WIKI, http://commoner.bitv-test.de/
