call for use cases: W3C eGovernment Interest Group

For those of you haven't heard of this ongoing work, please see the PR of the Activity launch at:

http://www.w3.org/2008/06/egov-pressrelease

The Group recently characterized the topic areas in which it's conducting its work:

http://www.w3.org/2007/eGov/IG/wiki/Use_Cases#topics

As you can also see there, still drafty but we are compiling use cases as examples in those areas to show the main issues found in ongoing projects and initiatives. The current plan is to identify the most common issues that need attention and develop Best Practices to address them at a later stage.

This request for use cases is an opportunity for people to have their issues considered/addressed by the Group.

We have a template with instructions available at:

http://www.w3.org/2007/eGov/IG/wiki/Use_Case_Template

Developing a use case should not be time consuming since we expect use cases to just describe existing projects in the terms mentioned in the template. As you can see from the charter and existing cases, we are working at a more technical detail than here at ePractice.

Compilation of use cases will be an ongoing task for the Group and can be sent at any time. We expect to publish an issues document with the most important issued identified by mid year, and a first draft coming out by February.

Of course, participation in the Group is open to anybody, so feel free to send me an email or read the information about participation:
